Thank you for joining on my series covering the wedding project! This post is going to cover Project 4, which covers the wedding flowers. During this project they go the most in depth for the floral pieces that will be used during the wedding, and also use a large portion of their budget that wasn’t already consumed by the venue.
Bouquets
As this project is used for Floral Design we go in depth with this portion of the project. For both the Bridal and Bridesmaids Bouquet students must include an inspirational photo of the design they would want to complete as well as classifying the shape of the design as well. Once they have this in the portfolio they will choose the individual flowers for the bouquet as well as the quantity needed for the bouquets in order to create their pricing sheet as well. This is the most in depth portion
Floral Design Use
For this portion of the project students will assess how they will use the florals they chose at both the wedding and the reception and must include inspiration photos of what they would use. Similarly to the bouquet section, students will select the specific flowers and colors they will use to be able to use them to create their pricing sheet. This section will include wearable items like corsages, boutonnieres, etc.
Order Sheet
Students will create the order sheet that would be used for their floral design business which should be representative of their business. Their sheet should price that you are charging for each floral piece with the mark up. Once students have calculated the mark up for all designs they should calculate the subtotal as well as the total with tax. Finally, once students have calculated the full cost, they will decide on the cost of delivery from their business location to the venue they have chosen as well of any additional fees they would add on the bill based on what they would need to provide the best service to their customers.
Stay tuned for the final portion of this series coming soon!
