Agriculture is often a hot topic, with national and world wide organizations attempting to “bring to light” new issues that are false, or create issues from nothing. However, many of these organizations have the publicity in order to spread misunderstanding about agriculture which has created a culture of false facts that the agriculture industry is struggling to correct. As an agriculture student you are able to use your knowledge to help the industry fight these battles!

I understand that this assignment is rather lengthy, most freshman Principles of Ag students will have never written a paper of this length, however this is the length that roughly equates to a Greenhand Prepared Public Speaking speech. In this resource I have a few goals 1) prepare my students who wish to compete in Speaking Development Events, 2) identify students who have not self-identified as competitors for this area, 3) align with my districts desire to increase writing across all courses, and what is likely the same for most ag teachers 4) have a student centered lesson that could easily be done with a substitute while I am out for Texas major livestock shows in the Spring.
